Arizona ALTCS or Medicaid

Did you know that when an ALTCS application is submitted directly to ALTCS by individuals or families, applicants are denied 73% of the time?

The Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) is Arizona’s version of Medicaid. administered by AHCCCS. ALTCS provides long term care services to Arizona residents who meet financial and medical requirements, are elderly and/or physically disabled (E/PD), or developmentally disabled (DD).

Members are first screened to meet financial eligibility criteria and then evaluated to determine if their medical needs qualify them for the program. Individuals qualifying for ALTCS have been identified as being at risk for institutionalization.

ALTCS provides in-home services which are intended to help your loved one remain in your own home. ALTCS also provides for nursing homes and assisted living services if your loved one cannot remain in their home safely.

The ALTCS application process can be time consuming and difficult. Many families find out too late that they made financial mistakes which can make their loved one not qualify.
