Find Assisted Living Centers in Portland
Families usually do not begin their search in hopes to find the assisted living centers
in Portland with:
- The most citations or violations
- The worst care history or
- The highest staff turnover
But that is exactly what can happen when you request a list of assisted living centers
from other assisted living websites.
We know that you expect and deserve more. That’s why CarePatrol looks beyond the
chandeliers and fancy lobbies and focuses on each community’s care history.
“CarePatrol recommended several places that had no violations Mom loves her new home! The assisted living facility that we received from another website looked nice, but had over 20 violations. We were so glad that we didn’t move into that facility”.
Sally & Jacob Henderson
“The other website gave out our name to absolutely every assisted living facility in my city. That wasn’t service, it was a nightmare”

Portland Assisted Living Centers
Assisted Living Centers provide housing and supportive services for six or more residents. These facilities are fully wheelchair accessible. Residents of assisted living facilities have private apartments, ranging from a studio to one or two bedrooms. Each apartment unit has a kitchenette and private bathroom with a wheelchair accessible shower. Assisted living centers are licensed and regulated by the Department of Human Services, Seniors and People with Disabilities.
Assisted living facilities are best suited for individuals who want to remain as independent as possible and who are able to direct their own care.
Assisted living facilities are not required to have licensed registered nurses on staff 24-hours-a-day.
Duties and qualifications of direct caregivers will vary among facilities. Staff to resident ratio will typically be lower than what is required for nursing homes. Caregivers are not required to be certified, although training prior to providing services to residents is mandatory.
